I just have to share another beautiful wedding with you.
This is Eric and Julia.
Are they not adorable!
We were very happy to attend their wedding a few weeks ago. Though all of the brides had beautiful dresses this year - for me Julia's takes the grand prize. I am a girl that likes pretty but that also adores comfort. Her dress has all of that. What had me at hello was the pockets! Yes, pockets on a wedding dress - and not only did she have the pockets - she used the pockets!
LOVED THIS DRESS!!!
See the pockets?
Her bridesmaids all wore a different shade of blue. Very pretty and the bright pop of the orange flowers was such a joyful touch! This really sums up the mood of the wedding!
As if all that is not feast enough for the eyes - the venue Eric and Julia chose took you back in time.
They were married at The Grosse Pointe War Memorial. Built in 1910, the home was called "The Moorings". It was owned by Russell A. Alger, Jr. In 1949 the house was donated to the community in honor of veterans and soldiers of World War II. The original house is now known as "The Alger House".
Detail of the fountain that rests in the front courtyard.
The entrance was truly enchanting.
So much detail. Why are details so overlooked in this day and age?
The grounds were meticulous. Eric and Julia were actually married on the back lawn which rests directly on the shores of Lake Saint Clair. A stunning backdrop!
A little more detail of the light and doors. It is all of the little touches that help make this house so special.
Another something blue - Julia's shoes! Very storybook with the beautiful crystal broaches! Such a great idea!
Best Wishes to this very happy couple!

ReplyDeleteLynda, I love Julia's dress as well! Wouldn't it be lovely if they found a way to insert pockets in all dresses?

ReplyDeleteBeautiful couple and such a beautiful place to have a wedding! I can't figure out why details are overlooked either in this day and age. Maybe we are lazy or too impatient. That is why I had to own a century home!
