Make The Perfect Hard Boiled Egg - Never A Sticky Shell

2:02 PM

I've had my ups and downs making hard boiled eggs, but I finally found a method that leaves you with a perfect egg every time :)  Beats all the other recipes I've ever tried!!!

Place your eggs in a medium to large saucepan and cover them with 2 inches of cold water.  Add 1 tablespoon of salt to the water.

Place on the stove and turn your burner on high.

When the water reaches a boil turn off the heat, cover your pot - leaving it on the burner - and let it sit for 13 minutes.

Promptly remove eggs from the pan and place them in an ice water bath.  Let them cool 5 minutes.

Next really crack your eggshells all over.  See photo below.  That ice water bath loosens the shell so it will basically peel off in one piece.  No more ugly peeled eggs!  You can peel it under cool water if that helps get all the little pieces of shell off.  It's that easy!  Peeled eggs can be stored in your fridge safely for 3 days.

I've been buying this egg brand - they really have the deepest yolk color, and the eggs themselves are so pretty.

You can find the white bowl the eggs are in here.  It's pretty and I use it all the time.
