Sharp Cheddar and Sausage Bites - A Family Favorite

2:43 AM

This recipe is so flavorful and easy to prepare.  The biscuits freeze perfectly which is another plus.  I've made them as appetizers at parties, they are great for any meal of the day.  I love them with apple slices.  You could pair them with a simple salad.  Yesterday was busy and I admit that throughout the day I ate 10 of them.  It wasn't my best day for variety - I mean water, 2 coffees, 1 apple, and 10 biscuits!  They really are that good!

Sharp Cheddar and Sausage Biscuits

1 pound Bob Evan's Original Bulk sausage, browned and drained
(you can use the zesty if you like spicier)
3 cups Bisquick Baking Mix
2 cups shredded sharp cheddar
2/3 cups water
3 teaspoons Premium Better Than Bouillon roasted beef base (link here cause that's a lot)

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
Mix Bisquick and cheddar together.  Stir in the cooked sausage.
Measure out the water - make sure it is piping hot.  Add the bouillon and stir until it dissolves.
Add water mixture and stir until all well combined.

Shape batter into small balls and place an inch apart on a lightly greased cookie sheet.  Bake 12-15 minutes or until edges are lightly browned.

Serve hot.

Refrigerate or freeze leftovers.

Makes about 3 dozen.
